Sundance Institute Chooses Documentary Edit and Story Lab Participants

The Sundance Institute has chosen 24 fellows representing nine films to participate in the 2012 Documentary Edit and Story Labs taking place this June and July at the Sundance Resort in Utah. The nine-day labs bring rising filmmakers together with experienced editors and directors to assist and speed up the post-production process.

Focus Forward's 'Short Films, Big Ideas' Competition Hits LAFF; Offers $100K Prize for Grand-Prize Winner

Focus Forward first announced its $200K Filmmaker Challenge at Sundance in January, and will be at LA Film Fest starting tomorrow (June 14-24) to encourage festival attendees and emerging talent to get in on the competition as well. "Short Films, Big Ideas" will ultimately be a series of 30 three-minute nonfiction films.

Sundance Lab Fellows Logan Kibens and Sharon Greene Debut 'Operator' in Screenplay Reading Series

Writer-director Logan Kibens and co-writer Sharon Greene debuted "Operator" Monday evening at the Ivy Substation in Culver City as part of the Sundance Institute Screenplay Reading Series. "Operator," a tech-savvy (and tech-wary) relationship comedy, was selected for the highly selective Sundance Screenwriting Labs in January.
