Get Ready for HBO’s Tech Comedy ‘Silicon Valley’ -- It's One of the Best New Series of 2014

The characters in Mike Judge’s new HBO comedy “Silicon Valley” may have little idea how to get their tech startup off the ground and running, but they certainly have what it takes to be at the center of a smart, laugh-out-loud series that could emerge as one of the strongest shows of 2014.

SXSW Episodic: Previewing Supernatural Chiller 'Penny Dreadful'

One of the more inspired aspects of this year’s SXSW is the newly added Episodic program, a showcase previewing yet-to-debut TV series. Episodic original content has clearly been undergoing a revolution. Indeed, the conversations surrounding small-screen content often eclipse what’s being said about big-screen fare. Seth Meyers Has Solid 'Late Night' Debut, Ronan Farrow Misfires on MSNBC -- Critics Weigh In

Two entertainment shows debuted this week with high-profile hosts. Seth Meyers took the reins from Jimmy Fallon as the new "Late Night" host, while Ronan Farrow kicked off his daytime news show on MSNBC, "Ronan Farrow Daily." Meyers has fared generally fine with reviewers, if some have the same criticism for him as they did new "Tonight Show" heir Fallon -- he's playing it too safe. But Farrow's getting less praise.

Did Jimmy Fallon Play It Too Safe with 'Tonight Show' Debut? Critics Weigh In

Jimmy Fallon had his debut episode of the "Tonight Show" February 17 (with Seth Meyers in turn taking over Fallon's old post at "Late Night" next Monday). Critics are weighing in this morning, and running the gamut: the Daily Beast calls the episode "brilliant," while the LA Times was less impressed, saying the show was "strangely muted."
