Well This is Awkward: 'Twilight' Drama Takes the Lead in EW's Fall Movie Preview; Stewart Out of 'Cali'

No surprise here; EW features a cuddly Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson on their Fall Movie Preview issue. "For better or worse," writes EW, "Stewart and Pattinson and their much speculated-upon romance have always been intertwined with the onscreen relationship of their fictional counterparts, Bella and Edward." Director Bill Condon reminds readers: "The fact is, these are actors playing parts. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing for people to be reminded of that.” Either way, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" (November 16) and EW will continue to sell plenty of tickets and issues that capitalize on the actors' private lives. 'Twas ever thus. Variety confirms web chatter that Stewart has dropped out of "Cali," in which she was previously set to star alongside "Magic Mike"'s Alex Pettyfer. Talks of a replacement are premature.

Stewart's Dalliance Could Hit 'Twilight' Finale, Universal's 'Snow White' Sequel, IFC's 'On the Road'

Universal has been planning a "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel that would bring back both Kristen Stewart and director Rupert Sanders. The idea behind David Koepp's script turned on doing more with the unresolved romantic triangle between Snow White (Stewart), the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and William (Sam Claflin). The only problem is, Stewart and Sanders have been embroiled in a romantic dalliance of their own, well chronicled in the tabloids.

Comic-Con Wrap: from 'Walking Dead' Zombie-Proof Car and 'Twilight' Finale to Marvel Panel; Costume Photo Gallery

Comic-Con is great fun if you don't have to be in Hall H. I'd skip it and watch the panels on YouTube if I didn't want to see the early footage. The Hall H security was so tight this year that even the studio PR execs were complaining about trying to get their people in. I bargained for passes for each individual studio panel..

Stewart Talks Becoming a Vampire and Getting Sexy in 'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2'; Preview of 'The Host'

At the Comic-Con "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II" (November 16) press conference and panel, it became clear that Kristen Stewart was doing all the talking--as Rob Pattinson happily listened. She had watched all her co-stars play vampires through three films. But she wanted to do it in her own way.

Cannes Market: Cassavetes Goes Gritty for Kristen Stewart's 'Cali'; Plot Revolves Around Faux Snuff Film

Nick Cassavetes, known best for delivering one of the greatest chick flicks ever -- "The Notebook" -- is back to some grittier material; the "Alpha Dog" director is set to helm "Cali," reports Variety. Kristen Stewart will star (and co-exec produce) as one of a pair of lovebirds (the other half is yet to be cast) who sell a fake snuff film and escape the San Fernando Valley with the cash. But then the girl must "return from the dead" in order to save her younger sister from the life she abandoned. Michael Diliberti wrote the script. Voltage Productions and New School Media are producing with their eye on a late summer start, assuming the Cannes market is agreeable for the project. With Stewart attached, it will be.

Now that Lionsgate, which made "The Hunger Games," and Summit, which made the "Twilight" movies, are one and the same company, both camps can root for the success of the next young adult book-to-movie franchise in a position to replace "Twilight," the post-apocalyptic "Hunger Games."

On Monday, the January 7 cover of People Magazine was "leaked" online, promising an exclusive coming out confession by "Twilight" heartthrob Taylor Lautner. There was one small problem with the story, though—it was fake.
