Girl With Dragon Tattoo: Final Five for Lisbeth Salander

Forget those other names for the much sought-after American remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Sony, producer Scott Rudin and director David Fincher are zeroing in on who will play bisexual hacker Lisbeth Salander. They are screen-testing five young up-and-comers, all relative unknowns.

Trailer Watch: The Town

Ben Affleck wrote and directed this new Bean Town crime drama, adapted from Chuck Hogan's Prince of Thieves. The Town depicts the struggles of ruthless robber Doug MacRay (Affleck) and the unexpected complications of falling for his former hostage, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Harry Potter, Lord of the Mashup

The new Harry Potter 7 Trailer seems vaguely reminiscent of Lord of the Rings. Granted, both are fantasy films, but the sweeping helicopter shots of magical warriors running across fields and mountains seem a little too similar. Well there's a reason! Harry Potter will be traveling to Middle Earth this fall. Just kidding, but check out the trailer for a fictional HP vs. LOTR after the jump:

Trailer Watch: Biutiful, A Film of Inarritu

Will Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's long-awaited follow-up to Babel (which scored seven Oscar nominations in 2007 including best picture) find a stateside home? Word is, CAA is on the verge of making a deal for the Spanish-language Biutiful, which earned divided reaction in Cannes, although Javier Bardem shared the best actor prize. (The actor just wed lady love Penelope Cruz in the Bahamas.)
