Tarantino Will Present Star of Texas Award for Linklater's 'Dazed and Confused'

Quentin Tarantino will present the Star of Texas Award to Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused" at the Texas Film Hall of Fame on March 7, celebrating the film's 20th anniversary. A screening of the film with the cast will take place on March 6.  Tarantino includes the film on his 2002 Sight and Sound list of his top ten films of all time.

Dazed and Confused

Quentin Tarantino will present the Star of Texas Award to Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused" at the Texas Film Hall of Fame on March 7, celebrating the film's 20th anniversary. A screening of the film with the cast will take place on March 6.  Tarantino includes the film on his 2002 Sight and Sound list of his top ten films of all time.

Tarantino will be joined by presenters Jack Fisk, Julie Hagerty, Michael McKean, Rob Reiner and Sissy Spacek. Adidtional honorees include Annette O’Toole, Henry Thomas, Steven Tobolowsky and Robin Wright. Here's more info.

Thompson on Hollywood

Born and raised in Manhattan, Anne Thompson grew up going to the Thalia and The New Yorker and wound up at grad Cinema Studies at NYU. She worked at United Artists and Film Comment before heading west as that magazine's west coast editor. She wrote for the LA Weekly, Sight and Sound, Empire, The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly before serving as West Coast Editor of Premiere. She wrote for The Washington Post, The London Observer, Wired, More, and Vanity Fair, and did staff stints at The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. She eventually took her blog Thompson on Hollywood to Indiewire. She taught film criticism at USC Critical Studies, and continues to host the fall semester of “Sneak Previews” for UCLA Extension.
