'The Terminator'

Today on Trailers from Hell, "Chronicle" screenwriter Max Landis discusses James Cameron's 1984 sci-fi classic "The Terminator," starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton.

James Cameron's triumphant updating of the well-made, low-budget sci-fi thrillers that flourished in the fifties was a box office smash in 1984. Cameron's whip-smart direction hits all the satirical twists and turns of the innovative script he wrote with Gale Ann Hurd and attention must be paid to TFH guru Mark Goldblatt's turn-on-a-dime editing. Two bigger budget sequel hits followed ("Terminator 2: Judgement Day" and "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines") with a fourth, "Terminator: Genesis," recently announced.

Max Landis' breathless adolescent geek schtick gets tired within seconds. If TFH positively HAS to have a Landis for these things, stick with his dad, John.
