"Star Wars: Episode VII" is on everyone's minds these days--if you missed it, yesterday we brought you the news that the newest star to join the film's every-growing cast is Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o--but Empire Magazine had decided to take a look back in Star Wars history to, you might say, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is on everyone's minds these days--if you missed it, yesterday we brought you the news that the newest star to join the film's ever-growing cast is Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o--but Empire Magazine had decided to take a look back in Star Wars history to, you might say, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

This week, Empire released the results of a poll asking its readers to name the greatest movie of all time, and "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" took the number 1 spot, with Episode 4, "A New Hope" coming in at number 6.  In recognition of that honor, the magazine has posted 65 photos from the making of the first (middle?) three episodes that began 36 years ago.  We've pulled some of the highlights for you below.
