Central Park Skaters Dakota
Have you ever read Jack Finney's "Time and Again?" It's a classic time travel book from 1970 about an ad exec who enters an apartment in New York's The Dakota (where John Lennon once lived, also the setting for Roman Polanski's "Rosemary's Baby") and goes back in time to soon after the landmark building was built in 1882 (actually it was two years later), when it was surrounded by fields. Robert Redford and Paul Newman were among the many players who tried--and failed--to make it into a movie. Finney also wrote a 1996 sequel, "From Time to Time,"bpublished one year after his death, and saw his paranoid thriller "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" spawn more than one movie.
Now Lionsgate production chief Erik Feig is going to give it a go with talented but disorganized filmmaker Doug Liman ("The Bourne Identity," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith") on board, reports Variety. Liman will produce with his Hypnotic partner Dave Bartis. Next up us Warner Bros.' Tom Cruise vehicle "All You Need Is Kill."
