Splinter Cell

Tom Hardy probably won't have time to be Tarzan for Warner Bros. now that he's signed on to star in "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell," which is being adapted by the creator of the source material (six existing videogames), Ubisoft. Eric Warren Singer is penning the script. New Regency has come on board to develop the project with Ubisoft. They have also teamed up for the "Assassin's Creed" film adaptation with Michael Fassbender attached as co-producer and star.

Hardy -- of Chris Nolan's "Inception" and "The Dark Knight Rises," as well as the upcoming "Mad Max: Fury Road" -- will star in "Splinter Cell" as Sam Fisher, a special operative involved in a black-ops mission known as Echelon.

A seventh game, "Splinter Cell: Blacklist" is set to be released in the Spring.

Tom Hardy WTF are you doing? You're never going 2 be a mainstream movie star, but maybe, just maybe you could be something much more interesting, if you could just leave bullshit projects alone.

I'm really curious what kind of packages Ubisoft is offering Hardy and Fassbender. Both these projects seem exceptionally high risk. And as a fan, incredibly uninteresting, but they probably want the paychecks.
