The trailer, like the novel, spans a mind-boggling number of eras and scenarios, including a 19th-century ship off the coast of New Zealand run by a captain (Sturgess) with a deadly brain bug, an American investigative journalist (Berry) looking into a thriller-style nuclear conspiracy, a gangster-turned-novelist with manicured facial hair (Hanks!) throwing a literary reviewer off a building, and an ominous Kona warrior (Grant, sporting tribal facepaint).
TOH reported on "Cloud Atlas" at the Cannes market, where Warner Bros. bought North American rights for $20 million.
The trailer must be seen to be believed; UPDATED slideshow and tongue-in-cheek video commentary from Tykwer, Andy and Lana Wachowski are also below.

Like I said awesome and completely breathtaking, the scope is just outside this world, and the plot is awesome and delivered superbly cause there is a plot and it deals on so many levels with reincarnation and the metaphysical, they have done what AVATAR wanted to do but failed badly and got caught up in male ego. This seems to penetrate on levels!!!
