Summer means not only the 10th season of guilty pleasure "Project Runway" but finally catching up with the cable series that I have not finished--hopefully before the Emmy Awards (dominated by HBO) are announced on September 23. Happily, HBO Go is finally working on my laptop and iPad (I don't have Smart TV) as I happily work my way through "Game of Thrones."

After I finish my current book group tome, "Wolf Hall," Hilary Mantel's satisfying historic fiction about Thomas Cromwell, I will hit George R.R. Martin's first book in the "Game of Thrones" series. In this fascinating video interview, the Hollywood screenwriter from Bayonne, New Jersey talks about how he came to write the books.
