It was bloody hot in L.A. Saturday. Film Threat's Chris Gore was among those who had to evacuate their homes as fires advanced. He tweeted:
"across st you can now see flames. Voluntary evacuations. Packing. Scared. I think I'm fucked."
He shot some video of the advancing ridge of flame:
Here's the threatened Mt. Wilson tower-cam. UPDATE: The LAT reports that the Station fire is:
"likely to hit historic Mt. Wilson observatory, fire officials say. The fire burning in Angeles National Forest is approaching the historic solar observatory and television transmission towers atop Mt. Wilson, according to Los Angeles County fire officials. "We expect it to get there in the next two to four hours," said county fire Capt. Mark Savage."
LAT vlogger Eric Spiegelman time-lapse videoed the flames:

Chris Gore owns a home in LA? How would an asshole like that afford more than a cardboard box?

Funny, Sal. That was the first thing I thought, too, when I read this.

Thank you Chris and Eric! Amazing photos. Last night we went to Dana Harris' and you could see it and feel it and smell it in Highland Park.

Scarily like the photos from Athens recently, as the suburban forests there went up in smoke. Scary, rather the antithesis of a cheery campfire.
