No surprise here; EW features a cuddly Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson on their Fall Movie Preview issue. "For better or worse," writes EW, "Stewart and Pattinson and their much speculated-upon romance have always been intertwined with the onscreen relationship of their fictional counterparts, Bella and Edward." Director Bill Condon reminds readers: "The fact is, these are actors playing parts. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing for people to be reminded of that.” Either way, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" (November 16) and EW will continue to sell plenty of tickets and issues that capitalize on the actors' private lives. 'Twas ever thus. Variety confirms web chatter that Stewart has dropped out of "Cali," in which she was previously set to star alongside "Magic Mike"'s Alex Pettyfer. Talks of a replacement are premature.
Luckily, there's plenty more fall movies to talk about. Below, a taste of the star-packed issue featuring 98 films:
Emily Blunt on her Comic-Con statement about "Looper" (“the best movie I’ve ever been a part of”): “I realize that sounded very absolute,..[But] I feel more than anything that people are going to be quite stunned by it. This is not like anything I’ve seen.” (September 28)
Jake Gyllenhaal on training for "End of Watch": “You typically hear actors talk about how they went on a couple ride-alongs. We spent five months doing it, three nights a week. By the end of this movie, Mike and I really believed we were partners. It was hard to have anybody convince us otherwise,..The first ride-along I went on, someone was murdered—I saw it. It changed my life, this movie.” (September 21)
Liam Neeson on "Taken 2": "I love doing all of the running-around action stuff. But it does take a little longer to recuperate than when you're in your 30s. But I love doing all that shit." (October 5)
