Wes Bentley and Brit Marling have boarded "The Green Blade Rises," about Abraham Lincoln's early years. The film, from writer-director AJ Edwards and producers Terrence Malick, Nicolas Gonda and Charley Beil, will also star Diane Kruger and Jason Clarke as Lincoln's step-mother and father. Bentley will play Lincoln's first teacher and Marling will play his biological mother.

Edwards began working with Malick as an editorial intern on "The New World," followed by being an artistic consultant on "The Tree of Life" and the editor of "To The Wonder." A brief synopsis for "The Green Blade Rises" is below.

The Green Blade Rises tells the untold story of the youth of America's greatest hero. It chronicles the hardships that shaped him, including abandonment by his father in the harsh winter wilderness, the tragedy that marked him forever and the two women who guided him to immortality, putting him on the path to becoming one of the most influential Presidents in United States history.

The plot clue reminds me bit of Nowhere Boy about John Lennon, about the women's living enffluencials to some later-to-be great man person. Anyhow Brit Marling rocks!
