The Tribeca team hit Los Angeles this week for a party celebrating the filmmakers at the upcoming New York fest April 17-28.

They talked up the fest, which is burgeoning and looking into more extracurricular programming beyond the standard rescreenings of Sundance and SXSW fare. There's some neat Transmedia stuff coming at P.S. 1, for example, and some cool Tribeca Talks filmmaker match-ups, "Interview" style. Clint Eastwood and Darren Aronofsky will converse, accompanied by the debut of doc "Eastwood Directs: The Untold Story. " Also talking to each other will be the garrulous trio behind fest circuit hit "Before Midnight," Richard Linklater, Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. And following the world premiere of "I Got Somethin’ to Tell You," Whoopi Goldberg’s directorial debut about comedic legend and pioneer Moms Mabley, Goldberg will do a Q & A. (Latest adds to the Tribeca schedule are below.)

The world premiere of Chiemi Karasawa's cinema verite doc "Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me" will be followed by a conversation with the filmmaker and Stritch. After the world premiere of "Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic," director Marina Zenovich, author Walter Mosley and comedian Wyatt Cenac will do a Q & A.

Among the cool Transmedia programming is a cinematic installation at the P.S. 1 dome in Queens, where an interactive loop will run for ten days; also to screen there is "Stand Clear of the Closing Doors," which deals with Hurricane Sandy. Paul Verhoeven will talk about the unveiling of his new interactive experiment "Tricked," whose script was backed by a Kickstarter campaign. Quantic Dream's "Beyond: Two Souls," a new interactive videogame scheduled for release in October on PlayStation 3, will be followed by a conversation with actress Ellen Page and game creator David Cage exploring the cinematic elements of filmmaking that have crossed over into interactive entertainment.
