Exclusive Media and UK's Hammer Film Productions announced today that "War Horse" leading man Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox from British TV's "Switch" have signed on to star in "The Woman in Black: Angel of Death," the sequel to the 2012 supernatural thriller starring Daniel Radcliffe.
Directed by Tom Harper from a screenplay by Jon Croker -- who served as story editor on the original film -- "Angel of Death" is set four decades after the original. The film will reprise the story of the titular ghost/woman-scorned and the children she terrorizes in a remote Victorian mansion that's straight out of "The Turn of the Screw." Also released by Hammer, "The Woman in Black" is the highest grossing British horror film in the last 20 years, having racked up over $130 million worldwide.
Exclusive Media international sales and distribution president Alex Walton will present the film at the Cannes buyers' market this May, anticipating a 2014 release.
