Tribeca Adds Music Docs from Alex Gibney and 'Berberian Sound Studio' Director Peter Strickland

They can't have Tribeca without Alex Gibney. And so today's announcement that the prolific documentarian's newest film, an untitled James Brown doc, is a new addition to the upcoming 2014 fest makes sense. Also added to the lineup is another music-oriented doc, "Bjork: Biophilia Live," directed by Nick Fenton and Peter Strickland, and making its world premiere.

International Documentary Association to Honor Alex Gibney, Laura Poitras and Geralyn Dreyfous

The International Documentary Association today announced that it will honor filmmaker Alex Gibney with its 2013 Career Achievement Award, its Amicus Award to producer Geralyn Dreyfous, and its Courage Under Fire award to filmmaker Laura Poitras, who broke the story of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.
