The Coens' "Hail Caesar!" Lands a Distributor, and a Co-Star for George Clooney

A double dose of news today for Coens fans: Universal Pictures has netted worldwide distribution rights to the Brothers' "Hail Caesar!," in which Josh Brolin has officially been cast opposite George Clooney.

OSCAR WATCH: Oscar Isaac Talks Acting and Guitar Picking for the Coens' 'Inside Llewyn Davis'

"Inside Llewyn Davis" is as pure as the driven snow, much like the title character played by gifted actor/musician Oscar Isaac in a breakout role that should earn awards attention. (He played supporting parts in "Sucker Punch" and "Drive," as Carey Mulligan's husband.) The movie is about an artist, for better or worse, who can't be anything but himself. The biggest challenge for the Coen brothers was finding an actor/musician who could carry the movie and sing its roster of challenging folks songs, holding the screen and not sending viewers toward the exits. Isaac was their guy.

Showtime To Air Benefit Concert Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of 'Inside Llewyn Davis'

A lucky group will get to see the one-time-only Town Hall concert in New York on September 29, mounted by the Coen brothers' music supervisor T Bone Burnett, called "Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of 'Inside Llewyn Davis.'" Luckily for the rest of us who can't be there, Showtime has just acquired exclusive television rights to film and air the benefit concert.

Telluride Tributes the Coen Brothers and T-Bone Burnett, Screens 'Inside Llewyn Davis'

Publicity shy writer-directors Joel and Ethan Coen came to Telluride for the first time, not only to screen "Inside Llewyn Davis" for festival audiences but to pay tribute to their long-time musical collaborator T-Bone Burnett. "Inside Llewyn Davis" is as pure as the driven snow, much like the title character played by gifted actor/musician Oscar Isaac (who played supporting roles in "Sucker Punch" and "Drive" as Carey Mulligan's husband). WATCH: Billy Bob Thornton's 'Jayne Mansfield's Car' (TRAILER)

As Billy Bob Thornton rejoins the Coen brothers' for their new "Fargo" TV series, at long last, his fest circuit veteran "Jayne Mansfield's Car" will be available on-demand August 20th and in theaters on September 13 via Anchor Bay Films. Marking "Slingblade" writer-director Thornton's first film since 2001's "Daddy and Them," "Jayne Mansfield's Car" was co-written with Tom Epperson.

'Inside Llewyn Davis' Soundtrack Gets September 17 Release, with Performances by Timberlake, Mulligan, Isaac (NEW TRAILER)

The soundtrack to the Coen Brothers' upcoming and already much buzzed about new film "Inside Llewyn Davis" will be released on September 17 via Nonesuch Records. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the folk-inspired album includes 12 songs performed in the film by cast members Oscar Isaac, Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan and more.
