A Tighter, Better Film???

So, this weekend's edit was another success--at least I think. We did our damnedest to incorporate most of the consistently negative feedback into the trimming. Lost almost six minutes, which makes the film 87 minutes now. I feel like we're really, really close. The major red flag issue that everybody had has been reworked and makes the film even better, I think. We also lost some small moments and trimmed others. All in the name of making a more affecting product.

Gonna take a break from it for another few weeks while I paint to earn a decent wage and knock out a trailer of some sort. I'm actually getting okay at painting--finally. I honestly couldn't be happier. Shooting the shit with my bro-in-law, listening to mix CDs and NPR, not having anyone to answer to. As long as no paint is spilled, there really is no stress or pressure. Nor is there any stressure. Nor is there any press.

Just watched the first three episodes of "Arrested Development." I'm late to all things television, I know. Good shit, though. Gonna try to knock out three more before I go to sleep for the night.

Tomorrow night, I'm going to the 9:30 Club by my damn self to see one of my favorite bands ever: TEENAGE FANCLUB! That said, I haven't heard the new record yet (just one track), but anything they play live sounds deliciously yummy to me. It's been over five years since I saw them last. Wish I had someone to attend the show with, but I'm a 31-year-old single loser who lives at home with his parents so I have to accept what I am. Oh well. Though if I'm a 34-year-old single loser who still lives at home with his parents, please visit me in Mt. Airy and drag me back to New York, where I can return to my professional life as an aimless, meandering lush...
