Newport is Wicked Fun
Can't write much. Off to catch a shorts package, including new ones by Jesse Epstein (THE GUARANTEE) and the insanely talented Josh Safdie (THE BACK OF HER HEAD), followed by another SJ screening and today's main event, SHOTGUN STORIES, which I'm perhaps too giddily excited about. By I will check my expectations at the door. Yesterday was great. We had a warmly received screening, which was nice. Even better than that was getting to see THIS IS ENGLAND, which blew my mind. Why has this film not been at other festivals??? It's soooooooo great. I'll write more about it later. Suffice to say, add THIS IS ENGLAND to your must-see list, for really real. THIS IS ENGLAND has not been at other American festivals, because Tribeca had the U.S. Premiere. Posted by anonymous on Jun 8, 2007 at 12:06PM i should have made that connection. the same goes for SHOTGUN STORIES, which i finally saw yesterday and will write about at greater length in my Newport wrap-up. suffice to say, both are phenomenally good.
