Ladies and gentlemen, either I'm being Punk'd by fellow Indiewire blogger Tom Hall, or there are actual female human beings out there who have taken a like-liking to the individual behind "Boredom at its Boredest" (or at least the false, two-dimensional representation of him that you see and read here every day). Don't worry, I don't believe it either, but I'm hoping to be proven wrong this Thursday night, when I make my return to New York City.
But first things first. I order you to attend the screening of Alex Karpovsky's wonderful debut feature, THE HOLE STORY (www.theholestoryfilm.com), because it's a fine achievement and truly independent films need all the support they can get. Go to www.rooftopfilms.com for specifics, and be sure to check out the full summer schedule while you're there.
After that, journey down to 151 Rivington for a gathering co-hosted by yours truly and the aforementioned Mr. Hall.
For all you groupies, I'll be raffling myself off at midnight, so get there early to buy a stack of tickets before they sell out.
Also, Todd Rohal will be there (though he won't be raffling himself off), which leads me to this...
The opportunity to be in the same spot as these three groundbreaking new voices in American independent cinema (aka, Absolute Bozos)? How could you NOT show up?
Hop on over to "The Back Row Manifesto" to read Tom's funny invite:
In all seriousness, come on out and say hello. It's gonna be lots of fun.
