I am sitting in the Sarasota airport about to finally head back to Brooklyn. It's only been a month, but it feels like it's been several. An announcement just came on the loudspeaker:
"A wireless mouse has been found at the security checkpoint. A wireless mouse has been found at the security checkpoint."
The 21st century... it's fan-tas-tic.
This year's Sarasota Film Festival was another success. Tom and Holly put together a truly exceptional program. Closing the week with a screening of Hal Ashby's 8 Million Ways to Die was like the most awesome palate cleanser ever. The heated showdown between Jeff Bridges and Andy Garcia in a stadium parking lot while they munched on snow cones... well, they just don't make them like they used to is all I have to say about that. After watching that film, I can genuinely say that every food group was represented at the 2009 SFF. Soooo yummy.
Brooklyn, here I come!!!
