When I figured that Kent Osborne would wrap up this weekend's Maryland Film Festival better than I ever could, boy, was I right on the money (did someone say money? what's that?). If there's anyone out there who doesn't know us and still makes it to the end of this epic recap, I would be shocked. I would also be shocked if that person didn't call us spoiled goofballs, because this looks like summer camp without the camp counselors. Which is strange, because I think we were supposed to be the camp counselors. Whoops. One final note, just for the record. My next karaoke display WILL get the party started. I was convinced "Ghostbusters" and "Electric Avenue" would do the trick, but I was wrong. Don't dismiss me completely just yet...
Late notice, but Ola Podrida will be playing their first show since Pitchfork blessed them with a superlative 8.0 rating the other day. Honestly, I thought they'd get an 8.3 or 8.4, but that's just me. This will be my first visit to the new Luna Lounge, which makes it a doubly momentous occasion.
Thanks for all the well-wishers trying to hook me up with employment. I actually think I might be okay for this month. A few days of painting before I head down to Jacksonville next weekend for the 2007 Jacksonville Film Festival, then I plan to jet down to Maryland upon my return to work some mo' with my bro-in-law, Eric "Goodflower" French. That guy's a lifesaver.
