Just when I thought I had somehow found myself trapped inside a long, slow, dark life of yang, yin snuck in the back door to turn on the lights.
COCAINE ANGEL is going to the 2006 Rotterdam Film Festival.
We've been accepted into the festival's White Noise sidebar, which is devoted to drugs and cinema. Festival programmer Gertjan Zuilhof has a blog set up at the RFF site (www.filmfestivalrotterdam.com) in which he eloquently writes about the sidebar’s overarching themes as well as discussing several films that are to be included in the program. He’s even going to write about COCAINE ANGEL (which will also be published in a Dutch magazine). Reading that essay will be a truly surreal and beautiful moment.
I don’t know what to say other than thank you, world (and Gertjan, of course). Damian and I really needed this right now. I have no hopes, expectations, or illusions about what might happen with the festival, or the film, or anything beyond that. I’m simply thankful that I now have a deadline to meet.
So book those flights and buy those tickets. It's gonna be fun, I promise...
