What looked to be a promising evening...

Shame on anyone who was within a thirty block radius of that place tonight. That was the most brilliant (albeit completely unintentional) condemnation of drug and alcohol abuse that I've ever witnessed firsthand, at least on that 'organized' a scale. It's okay to be under 25 years old and act like that, but when you're over 45--and even older than that? Shame on you.

Shame on all of us.

yeah, we were nominated for our lil stoner rock & roll flick "Rock Opera" in the best unreleased film category a while back. Then a flick that wasn't even nominated won! Scandal! The deal was, the pic that won featured the night's emcee, Pauly Shore. damn stoners...

i'm just bitter and jealous that we didn't win the glass bong. really. i'm still crying. in all seriousness, congrats to Dean Budnick, whose doc, WETLANDS PRESERVED, took home the trophy in our category. talking to him was the most worthwile thing i did all night. also, Redman was one of the few who rose to the occasion. no need to comment further. except to say that Jeff "The Dude" Dowd's acceptance speech for his lifetime achievement award was face-coveringly embarrassing. if you really want to legalize pot, people, then stop acting like 12-year-olds.
