Peace Out, 2006 (& Some New Year's Eve Film Links)

I saw CHILDREN OF MEN again on Friday night (a sneak double-feature with PAN'S LABYRINTH at the 42nd Street AMC, which is the first time I've done that in a long, long time). If you haven't seen it yet, I order you to do it now. Read this article from the LA Times that breaks down one of the most unbelievable one-takes ever. Those guys are amazing.

After that, read Vern's glowing review of the film. And while you're over there, check out his review of LETHAL WEAPON, which is another instant classic. If I ever get any pull in the industry, I promise that I will help Vern make GUITAR COP!

Happy New Year, one and all. Don't get too crazy tonight. I'll probably stick with my annual New Year's Eve routine: malt liquor and an 8 ball in Times Square for the ball drop, followed by a strip club and a call girl. I hate waking up alone on New Year's Day. Or maybe I'll just have a quiet night in Fort Greene with good friends.

I'm finally ready to post my year end film wrap-up, which will happen on either the 2nd or the 3rd, so get ready for that. I also hope to do a music recap, and maybe even reflect upon the year that was with COCAINE ANGEL. It's hard to believe how much fun, exciting stuff happened with our no-budget shot in the dark in just twelve tiny months. Don't think we're not grateful, because we are. We're very, very thankful for all of the attention the film received and all of the wonderful people we met along the way. To be honest, at the moment it feels like it was all just a dream, but it wasn't. Right?

I don't want to jinx myself, but 2007 is shaping up to be as exciting as, if not more than, 2006. SILVER JEW is just about picture-locked, and we can't wait for all of you to see it.

Catch y'all on the flipside...
