After much deliberating, the day has finally come to unleash the first ever Hammer to Nail Awards. I can't think of a better year to have taken the plunge and started the H2N website. Special thanks goes to Ted Hope, Corbin Day, and Mike S. Ryan for thinking I might be up to the challenge. It's been a blast.

Looking over our list of Top 13 Films, not to mention the added alphabetical list of films that received votes but didn't make the cut, it's pretty damn inspiring. Distribution may be screwy, but the films are better than ever. Keep up the great work, filmmakers!

On a personal note, let it be known that I didn't vote for any films I directly worked on. As in Mary Bronstein's Yeast, which made the longer list but not out of any nepotism on my part. Speaking of Yeast, it's now available for purchase through Amazon's VOD option right here. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you check it out to see which side of the fence you land on. I've said this before, but I think it's a visceral, assaultive, and hilarious jolt of excruciating fun!
