The End is Near

Friday brings the last multi-film day of the NYFF for me (a few stragglers at the beginning of next week). It's going to be a doozy. FALLING at 10am, TRIAD ELECTION at 12:15pm, and round two of INLAND EMPIRE at 2pm. Not enough time to grab a snack in between, which will only add to the blur. I'm simultaneously excited and terrified to sit through INLAND EMPIRE once again, but I feel like I need to do just that to confirm and/or deny my initial reaction to it (whatever that is). Capping it off will be a press conference with Mr. Lynch himself. Not a bad way to close out the festival.

As if three movies isn't enough, I have a fourth film to catch after I escape from midtown. My good buddy James Dawson isn't an actor, and has no illusions of becoming an actor. Yet he attended an open call for THE DEPARTED way back when just for shits and giggles. Tomorrow night, I'll be sitting next to him as he appears on screen as one of Nicholson's thuggish goons. Ha!
