Well, I'm sitting in the filmmakers' lounge with Shawn and Damian as I type this. Yesterday and last night were low-key. I checked into the hotel, then met up with Wingo and we caught the world premiere of the Lisa Muskat produced CHAMPIONS starring Kevin Corrigan. Quite a zany ride with some hilarious dialogue ("If I'm not back in seven minutes, meet me at the Wa Wa"; "Do you like Yes?" "No."). After that, I met up with Paul and the LIVE FREE OR DIE team for some dinner. Thankfully, that got in the way of the Maryland game. What an absolute joke.

The drive here was relatively painless, but, man, I still feel strange. We left at midnight Wednesday/Thursday and got into town yesterday at about 2:30pm. I sucked it up and drove the whole time. The first several hours were spent zinging off of my makeshift new drink, the "Code Red Bull." Big cup of ice, Red Bull, then fill up the rest with Code Red. Proceed to let the crack high begin--which it does!

Waking up this morning, I felt like I'd woken up after a three-day coke binge. Which led me to think a strange thought. Maybe it isn't the cocaine, it's the staying up all night. Go with me on this. It's kind of like when I wake up feeling hungover after having spent a long, sober night in a smoky bar. Maybe it's not the alcohol it's the smoke. Whaddya think?

Anyway, enough of that senselessness. Let's move on to matters of importance. Like the North American premiere of COCAINE ANGEL! It's at 4pm this afternoon at the Alamo South Lamar 1. I think tickets only go on sale like fifteen minutes before showtime, so I hope that system works well. I'm surprisingly calm. None of this matters. People are dying, babies are being born, winter is becoming spring. This is just impossibly tasty dessert after a long, hard year. Though I do hope everyone appreciates it on some level, and I wouldn't rather be anywhere else in the world right now. Another incredibly loud thanks to the lovely folks at SXSW!!!
