Cristi Puiu (The Death Of Mr. Lazarescu) made his first ever appearance at The New York Film Festival today, participating in a press conference for his new film Aurora, which I really loved and which I hope to be writing about soon. The conference itself was one of the best I've ever attended, with Puiu using his time to seriously and honestly answer the three or four questions he received by delving deep within himself, exploring his own thoughts and ideas in real time. It was very moving to see a director so thoughtfully engage with his film, and his performance at today's press conference rivaled his performance in the movie itself (he plays the lead). If you have a chance to see Aurora, take it; it will be three hours well spent.

I thought and I am really thinking that american society still have a certain morality. Plus the corruption of Cristi Puiu and his producer Bobby Paunescu the movie is an artistic failure. The scenario is a very bad one. Cristi Puiu had some ideas -quite common for a average person from Eastern Europe. We do not understand what happened, not at the methaphisical level but at the elementary one.
The movie is bad and I hope no distrubuter will take a movie produced by one of the most corrupted people in Romania, Paunescu family. It is a normal sanction for the anyone who really loves cinema.

Was a really amazing experience to see Cristi Puiu's recent film. Beside a good cinema you can have at the end of the 3 hours an important inner-self reflection. For such a young director, I am impressed about the fine and subtile narration of the film and the deep philosophical issues brought over about how ordinary human beings are when something is out of control. How anybody could change if you change the referential. I just can wait to see it again when will be release here, together with my friends.

So naive, if you say in Romania that Cristi Puiu is honrest they are going to have fun for longtime. Cristi Puiu lies evert moment and about everything. Ask hi; why he became associated with one of the the corrupted family in Romania, Paunescu family and he will answer you that corruption is normal.
Ask him how he had used his first wife 20 years older than him, Cosette who still lives in Lausanne and he will tell you that using people is normal.
The Death of Mr. Lazarescu was a very good and so what? Is five years ago.
Forget about Cristi Puiu new role as a honest director..

Please do not write something about Cristi Puiu. Of course, for political reason he is promoted by the Romanian Cultural Institute. He is known in Romania only by his arrogance and the relationship with Bobby Paunescu and his girlfriend a former legerie model, Monica Barladeanu. Bobby Paunescu is by corruption,as so many books had proven, one of the richest men in Romania. Please do not dispoint romanian people by writing good things abput this moral impostor. We have a facebbok group - more information about them there!/group.php?gid=128454317167739 composed by oustanding Romanian intellectuals- Mircea Morariu, Zoe Petre.

Cristi Puiu is the representative of the new wave of corruption in cinema in Romania. His movies are produced by one the most corrupted people in Romania Paunescu family with whom he owm a movie house production. Several articles were written about Cristi Puiu and Bobby Paunescu and corruption.
He knows to play the role of a thoughtful director as he knew to play Viorel. In Romania honnest people stay away from Cristi Puiu and Bobby Paunescu. Only the corrupt press is with them. that's a really independent author!!! With a philosophy about film and life. Cristi Puiu is a seeker and a thinker. Aurora is the best film in 2010 (and I saw all in Cannes) retorical language, no lies about what we are...the thought is an action...
Good luck, Cristi! You are the best!
