Elizabeth Gabler just renewed her contract as the President of Fox 2000.  This is the studio which is under the main Fox studio focuses on films targeted at the female audience.  Its nickname is "Foxy Fox."  Films made by Fox 2000 include Water for Elephants and The Devil Wears Prada.  They have grossed over $1 billion.

Gabler has been running the studio for 13 years after taking over for Laura Ziskin who started the label.  The senior executives have always been women and now that Carla Hacken has moved on to become President of Production at New Regency, Jessica Goodman has joined as Executive VP of Production and Marisa Paiva has been promoted to Director of Development.

One film on the Fox 2000 development roster that just got a bit of attention is the sequel to Waiting to Exhale which has been in the works since Terry McMillan published the sequel Getting to Happy two years ago.  Exhale is you recall, was one of Whitney Houston's starring roles.  The film is moving forward according to Gabler in honor of Houston.
