After a disappointing year where not a single female written new play was produced on Broadway, word comes in now that next season will at least have some female representation.

Theresa Rebeck's play Seminar starring the awesome Alan Rickman will be produced this fall (October) at a Broadway theatre to be shortly announced.

Here's the description of Seminar:

four young writers who are thrilled to be participating in a private seminar taught by the brilliant but unpredictable Leonard (Rickman), an international literary legend. But as Leonard deems some students more promising than others, tensions arise. Sex is used as a weapon, alliances are made and broken, and it's not just the wordplay that turns vicious…

Rebeck will also be represented on network TV next year. Her show Smash will air on NBC starting in early February.
