Shelton described it about a twentysomething woman, who is passive in her life. When her longtime boyfriend proposes, she freaks out and hides out with her new best friend, a 16 year old girl.

It's a little hard not to be wary of a Carrie remake. The iconic 1976 film starring Sissy Spacek and a terrifying Piper Laurie is one of my favorite horror movies. But bring in acclaimed director Kimberly Peirce, one of my all-time favorite actresses Julianne Moore and arguably one of the best young actresses working right now, Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie--it's hard not to be sold. The teaser trailer cements that this will be a movie to see when it hits theaters in the spring.

The Politics of Hit Girl

There aren't many times when I go to a movie and I leave speechless. But that did happen to me recently when I saw the film Kick Ass. For those of you that don't know, the film is about an average to slightly nerdy comic book loving kid who decides that he can be his own type of superhero. He dresses up in a wet suit and heads out into the street to save some people. The film is based on the comic book by Mark Millar, is written by Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn (the pair the brought us the underappreciated Stardust) and directed by Vaughn.
