Actress Michelle Yeoh who portrays Aung San Suu Kyi in the upcoming film The Lady was deported from Burma when she tried to enter the country to see Kyi last week. She has been placed on a blacklist and never made it out of the airport. She had been to Burma in December to visit Kyi who has recently been released from house arrest.

No official reason as to why Yeoh made it onto a blacklist -- except I guess the fact that the film is about a person who had been under house arrest for decades in the country and is the leader of the democracy movement in the country -- and the film is slated to be released this fall. This issue will only make people more interested in the film.
