The New York Times awarded their 2012 Outstanding Playwright Award to Amy Herzog for her play After the Revolution

After the Revolution, an off-Broadway hit, follows an extremely left-leaning political family and how politics and family history can shape individuals.

Herzog dedicated the award to her family, who she said inspired the characters in After the Revolution. She will receive a $5,000 prize. The award was created in 2009 to support an American playwright whose work recently had a professional debut in New York.
