As we previously reported, The Athena Film Festival (co-founded by our own Melissa Silverstein) is gearing up for its third year.

Here’s where you come in!  If you are in the New York area from February 7-10 and can help volunteer in any way—checking coats, taking tickets, directing ticket holders, any kind of help with general staffing—you can get free tickets for the festival. Go here to sign up.

And a reminder that the December 15 deadline for the “Crafting a Short: How to Find Your Story and Make It a Movie” workshop is coming up. Co-sponsored by the Athena Film Festival and the American Film Institute Directing Workshop for Women, the workshop is accepting applications from women filmmakers who have a short film idea they’d like to develop. You can find more information here.
