I am a 58 yr. old woman and have eight stints keeping my heart pumping. I went to my physician because of the pain in my chest and a regimen of tests were performed but all showed nothing was wrong. Sometime later when the pain worsened I insisited I see a cardiologist. I passed on the suggested stress test stating the prior results were fine and opted for the cath. I had 98 % blockage in one artery and 85 % in another. So much for the Doctor that came in after a previous test yelling that there was nothing wrong with me! The tests given most women are geared for males, so it's nice to see some positive info out there for us girls. If you show any signs of discomfort , even if those symptoms are not on the list of heart symptoms go to a Cardiologist and have the cath, it's the GOLD stadard. Sometimes it's the only way to find the answers tp ypor problems. I went three times and I am still here on earth because I listened to my body, and have a great cardio man.
