Chicken and Egg Pictures, the nonprofit film fund dedicated to incubating socially conscious documentaries from female filmmakers, has partnered up with the Indian Documentary Foundation to launch a new financial resource for women documentarians from India.
The IDF-Chicken and Egg Fund, which will support two female filmmakers with grants valued at $10,000, will accept applications as of September 2014. The grants will likely comprise a combination of cash and in-kind services like editing, post production and sound mixing.
Applications will be received from both emerging and established filmmakers, and a variety of types of projects will be considered, such as hybrid and transmedia storytelling. All documentaries under review should touch on social, environmental, or political themes.
