Not only are Hollywood directors booking pilot gigs, but TV has become the place for female actresses over 40 whose names are not Meryl Streep or Helen Mirren to get substantive gigs.
Christine Lahti and Maria Bello are the latest to book pilot gigs.
Bello will star in the US version of Prime Suspect which made Helen Mirren a household name, and Lahti will play star in The Doctor "who reconnects with her adult children when she joins the family medical practice." If I am not mistaken Lahti was also in a film called The Doctor in the early 90s with William Hurt. The Doctor TV series is created by Privileged creator Rina Mimoun.
