Deepa Mehta's Midnight's Children, adapted from Salman Rushdie's novel, follows two children Saleem and Shiva, who are born just at the moment where India regains its freedom from Britain. The two are switched in the hospital, each leading the life meant for the other while their lives continue to be mysteriously entangled.
