3 of 15 Documentaries on Oscar Shortlist Directed by Women

Yesterday, the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences released the 15 films on the short list in the Documentary feature category for this year’s Oscars. Only three films on the shortlist are directed by women.  That's just 20%.

Good News: Women Directed and Women Written Films Fill Sundance Premiere Section

The leading ladies of "Bachelorette."
While there weren't enough films directed and written by women in the competition as I would have hoped, the list of premieres looks at bit different.  Check out the description for Bachelorette- could it be any more like Bridesmaids?  It better be good cause if this starts a trend of more crappy wedding films...

Check out the women directed, women written and women centric films coming to Sundance in January.  Some films could fit into more than one category. (descriptions off the Hollywood Reporter site)
