Love this.  Jon Stewart kicked the shit out of Disney for their Merida makeover.

Cross Post: Reel Girl's Gallery of Girls Gone Missing From Children's Movies in 2013

In 2012, I waited until the last possible minute. It wasn’t until December that I posted Reel Girl’s Gallery of Girls Gone Missing from Children’s Movies in 2012. Even though in the age of the internet, the facts were impossible to miss, I kept hoping that, somehow, I’d overlooked something.

Jennifer Lee Named Director of Disney's Frozen

Last week, Disney announced that Jennifer Lee, writer of the hit Wreck-It Ralph, will be co-directing their 53rd full length animated feature film, Frozen.  Lee will become the 2nd woman to helm a Disney film, but the first from Disney proper (as far as we can tell).  Brenda Chapman who co-directed Brave was the first and she was fired by the studio a year before the film came out.  And we should remember that Chapman was employed by Pixar, which is owned by Disney.

The Disney Princesses Welcome a New Sister - Princess Leia

Start your day off with a little levity.  We're all going to need it.  It's kind of funny that Princess Leia our first example of a kick ass competent woman in sci-fi has joined the family of Disney princesses.
