IFC Films has acquired the rights to Megan Griffiths' Lucky Them which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last month.

Written by Emily Wachtel and Hugo Botko, the film follows a music journalist (Toni Collette) who is sent on assignment to to explore her past, much of which consists of revisiting past relationships with musicians. She's joined by Charlie (Thomas Hayden Church) an eccentric documentarian and sets out to revisit her past and move on with her life.

IFC Films/Sundance Selects president, Jonathan Sehring, commented on the acquisition.

Toni and Thomas give fantastic performances, and this film is an effervescent and hilarious portrait of one woman's self-examination that is bolstered by an excellent supporting cast.

The film was produced by Adam Gibbs, Amy Hobby and Wachtel. It was executive produced by Joanne Woodward and Peer Pedersen. Check out our interview from TIFF with Griffiths and Wachtel about the film here.
