Want to Write a Guest Post for Women and ...Nancy Meyers to Direct Her Daughter Haille's Screenplay
Nancy Meyers whose last film was It's Complicated will direct her daughter Hailee Meyers Shyer's script called The Chelsea. I tried to investigate other mother/daughter writing/directing teams and I didn't find much info.
But I did find another mother and daughter team in Elaine May and Jeannie Berlin. Elaine May was in her daughter's Jeannie's film In the Spirit, and May directed Berlin in The Heartbreak Kid.
But back to Haillee Meyer Shyer... her Hollywood DNA is pretty impressive with both mom and dad as uber successful writers and directors. In case you don't know, her parents -- dad is Charles Shyer -- wrote Private Benjamin and Baby Boom among many others.
The film Meyers Shyer has written that Meyers will direct according to Deadline is: an "ensemble dramedy set in the Chelsea Apartments in New York City." Felicity Jones is attached to star.
No word yet on anyone else cast or when the film will be ready to shoot.
