Octavia Spencer to Murder She Wrote Reboot, Melissa McCarthy to Produce Sitcom and Other TV News

In the most exciting TV news of the week, NBC has given a put pilot commitment to a Murder She Wrote reboot starring Oscar winner, Octavia Spencer.

Alexandra Cunningham will write and executive produce the project with David Janollari, It will put a twist on the 12 season long running Murder She Wrote, starring the great Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher. Spencer will play a hospital administrator and amateur sleuth who self-publishes her own mystery novel. She begins helping others solve crimes. 

And in other news, Melissa McCarthy, alongside husband, Ben Falcone, have sold their third show in a row. The pitch is about two grown men who are forced together when their parents get married. McCarthy and Falcone will executive produce alongside Larry Dorf who wrote the script.

    No, it is Not " the most exciting casting news of the week".
    There is a reason no one takes NBC seriously anymore - this is a perfect example.
    Octavia Spencer is a very fine and talented actress, she deserves far better treatment from the Nitwits at NBC

    It is ASSININE to cast Octavia Spencer as Jessica Fletcher.
    She deserves far better treatment from NBC.
