So tired of reading these lists that don't include any women.  This time it is AMC's film site which offers up a list of the 50 top directors of all time.

There is not one single woman who could have made the list?  Not one?  Jane Campion?  Dorothy Arzner?  Julie Taymor?  Claire Denis?  It's not like you need to include 20 women, but one or two women out there have done stellar work and they deserve to be on the list.

I hate writing about these lists but I have made it my business to not let any of these folks get away with this without comment.  I'm going to say something every single time.

It doesn't look like you can comment on the post, but let's just keep in mind that there are women directors that matter, I guess not enough to the folks at AMC and Tim Dirks who put the piece together

Nichols, Lucas, Stone, Burton, Zemeckis, Brooks, Jackson, Scott?! The lack of representation is the *least* of that list's problems.

Simply rework the title and AMC really nailed a stellar list of some of the most misogynistic directors of all time...(coughSamPeckinpahcough)
