It’s of interest to note that two of the women who are the top earning television actresses are Latina. With 2010 census information counting a little over 50 million Hispanics residing in the U.S., making up 16.3% of the population, it’s refreshing to see pop culture begin to reflect the people who make up a large portion of this country. And even more so, that it is Latina women, who are portraying these representations without whitewashing their Hispanic roots. Longoria is producing, Devious Maids, an English adaptation of a telenovela, starring Ana Ortiz and Dania Ramirez, recently got picked up by Lifetime after ABC passed on the pilot.
