We Need to Talk About Kevin directed by Lynne Ramsay reopened (after an Oscar quallifying run in December) in the US to strong numbers last weekend.  The film scored the highest per screen gross of the weekend with $22,000 per screen.

The Iron Lady written by Abi Morgan and directed by Phyllida Lloyd continued its expansion and rolled out on over 800 screens grossing over $5 million.  It has now taken in over $7 million in the US and $11 million abroad.  This is just more confirmation of the star status of Meryl Streep.  The woman can open a movie even with mixed reviews and with the awards coming and an Oscar nomination assured for next week, this film will continue to do very well for weeks to come.
