I am so impressed by this woman and how she is making movies about African American women on her terms. I really liked her first film, I Will Follow. We will try and cover this at Sundance, but here is a taste.
Here's the description of the film: "Middle of Nowhere" follows a woman named Ruby who loses her husband to incarceration and loses herself in the process. Eventually, she becomes torn between two world - and two men - on the journey back to herself."
Newcomer Emayatzy Corinealdi stars as Ruby.
