I saw this when it premiered in the UK. It's fantastic! Tom Stoppard is always brilliant and manages to turn a superb yet fiercely modernist book (meaning it abounds in slightly laborious streams of consciousness) into an engaging and fascinating miniseries about the social impacts of WWI. Benedict Cumberbatch is as stunning as always. I wasn't familiar with Rebecca Hall and Adelaide Clemens, but they both impressed me. I must say that I disagreed with some of Susanna White's staging decisions, but she brilliantly and subtly expressed the cultural movements surrounding WWI. But I am a history and film major -- others may find it a bit dull.
